MODE

SEND & RECEIVE MODE

The MODE command is followed by a single Telnet character specifying the send/receive mode to be used. This command is now rarely used as nearly all clients detect this upon connection and nearly all servers default to Stream. This command was much more prevalent when connection speeds were far more limited than they are today.

The following codes are assigned for these modes:

• S - Stream
• B - Block
• C - Compressed

The default mode is Stream.
